When To Use
Use E235™ on projects with a sustainability objective in which a construction manager serves as advisor, integrating sustainability accountability into the CMa delivery structure. It must be attached to an agreement and is not a stand-alone document.
What It Does
E235 has been developed for use on a wide variety of sustainable projects, including those in which the Sustainable Objective includes obtaining a Sustainability Certification, such as LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), or those in which the Sustainable Objective is based on the incorporation of performance-based sustainable design or construction elements. This edition is tailored to address the risks, responsibilities, and opportunities unique to projects with substantial elements of sustainable design and construction when a CMa is involved as an additional party.

E235 replaces the Sustainable Projects documents in the CMa family of AIA Contract Documents.
