Use G734™ to formally mark the date of substantial completion on a CMa project, when the owner can occupy or use the work for its intended purpose. G734 is tailored for projects with more than one prime contractor. This document is suitable for any size project.
What It Does
G734 is the standard form for recording the date of substantial completion. The contractor prepares a punch list of items to be completed or corrected; the architect and CMa verify and may amend it. The form captures four agreed-upon matters: the time allowed for punch list completion, the date of owner occupancy, and the allocation of responsibilities for maintenance, heat, utilities, and insurance during the transition. Executing this form triggers warranty periods and the release of retainage, providing all parties with a completion milestone that governs remaining close-out obligations.
