When To Use
Use A232™ as the General Conditions on Construction Manager as Advisor (CMa) projects. It is incorporated by reference into AIA's CMa owner-contractor, owner-architect, and owner-CM advisor agreements, giving the full project team a consistent legal framework across all parties.
What It Does
A232 sets forth the rights, responsibilities, and relationships of the owner, contractor, construction manager, and architect for projects delivered under the Construction Manager as Advisor model. The construction manager serves as an independent advisor to the owner, who enters into separate contracts with prime trade contractors.
Additional Information
A232 must not be combined with agreements where the CM acts as constructor, such as A133 or A134.
