When To Use
Use C421™ when an architect expects to hire the same consultant on multiple future projects and wants a single Master Agreement governing all engagements. C421 is suitable for use with all types of consultants, including consulting architects.
What It Does
C421 is a Master Agreement between an architect and consultant. Individual C422 Service Orders are subsequently issued for each project scope, eliminating repetitive negotiation and streamlining the process of engaging the same consultant across multiple projects. C421 provides only the common terms and conditions applicable to each Service Order and may incorporate by reference a preexisting owner-architect agreement known as the Prime Agreement.
Additional Information
Use of C421 plus a Service Order creates a contract, referred to as the Service Agreement, that includes both the terms and the scope of services.
