When To Use
Use B102™ RI when an owner is hiring an architect for a State of Rhode Island project and the scope of services cannot be predefined, requiring a separate scope attachment tailored to the project's unique needs. It is well-suited for nonstandard engagements where a built-in scope menu would be too rigid.
What It Does
B102 RI provides a flexible owner-architect agreement that allows for tailoring of the scope to the project's unique requirements. This version is modified by the State of Rhode Island and is intended for use only on State of Rhode Island projects. The agreement includes terms, conditions, and compensation details, but no predefined scope of services. The scope of services is inserted in Article 1 or attached as an exhibit.
Additional Information
Intended only for Rhode Island projects. AIA's publication does not constitute endorsement of the RI modifications. View the B102 RI comparative guide.
