When To Use
Use A201® SCOSE on any South Carolina Office of State Engineer design-bid-build project that requires a complete set of General Conditions. A201 SCOSE is the keystone document adopted by reference in SCOSE owner-architect, owner-contractor, and contractor-subcontractor agreements.
What It Does
A201 SCOSE provides the foundational General Conditions that govern the rights, responsibilities, and relationships among the owner, contractor, architect, and subcontractors. A201 SCOSE is the legal backbone of South Carolina Office of State Engineer construction contracts, consistently defining each party's obligations through final completion. Although not a party to the construction contract between the owner and the contractor, the architect participates in preparing the contract documents and performs the construction-phase responsibilities described in detail in the General Conditions.
