G744 – 2024 is the current version aligned with the 2024 design-build document family. Use G744™ to formally mark the date of substantial completion on a design-build project, when the owner can both certify this milestone and occupy or use the work for its intended purpose.
What It Does
G744 provides the owner with a form to certify substantial completion on design-build projects. Because there is no third-party architect in design-build delivery, the owner assumes the certification role and inspects the project to determine the date of substantial completion. It triggers warranty periods and the release of retainage, giving owners and design-builders a completion milestone that governs the project's remaining obligations.
