When To Use
Use A142™ when a design-builder needs to subcontract construction work to a separate general contractor on a design-build project. This document is suitable for both stipulated-sum and cost-of-work payment models.
What It Does
A142 establishes the contractual relationship between a design-builder and contractor for design-build projects. It obligates the contractor to perform the work in accordance with the Contract Documents, including the attached exhibits, supplementary and other conditions, drawings, specifications, addenda, and modifications. It clearly defines the contractor's scope and responsibilities within the design-build structure.
