When To Use
Use G742™ when a design-builder needs to apply for a progress payment, and the owner needs to certify the amount due on a design-build project. G742 should be prepared by the subcontractor in accordance with the General Conditions. This document is suitable for any size project or payment method.
What It Does
G742 pairs with the G743 Continuation Sheet to provide complete forms on which the design-builder can apply for payment. The design-builder documents the status of the contract sum to date, including work completed and stored, retainage, previous payments, change order summary, and the current amount requested. The complementary Continuation Sheet breaks the contract sum into portions of the work in accordance with a schedule of values. The form allows the owner to certify an amount different than the amount applied for, with an explanation provided by the owner.
Additional Information
It is commonly referred to as an AIA billing form, progress billing form, or pay app.
