When To Use
Use A141™ KDE for District Facilities Branch of the Kentucky Department of Education design-build projects in which a single Design-Build entity will provide both design and construction. The agreement accommodates either a stipulated sum or a cost-of-the-work payment structure.
What It Does
A141 KDE establishes the agreement between the owner and design-builder for Kentucky school construction projects. The owner provides the Owner's Criteria for the design-builder to develop a preliminary design. From there, the design-builder proposes a contract sum using the Exhibit A Design-Build Amendment for approval. It also includes exhibits for Insurance and Bonds (Exhibit B) and Sustainable Projects (Exhibit C).
