When To Use

Use A201® RI on any State of Rhode Island design-bid-build project that requires a complete set of General Conditions. A201 RI is the keystone document adopted by reference in Rhode Island owner-architect, owner-contractor, and contractor-subcontractor agreements.

What It Does

A201 RI provides the foundational General Conditions that govern the rights, responsibilities, and relationships among the owner, contractor, architect, and subcontractors. A201 RI is the legal backbone of the State of Rhode Island construction contracts, consistently defining each party's obligations through final completion. Although not a party to the construction contract between the owner and the contractor, the architect participates in preparing the contract documents and performs the construction-phase responsibilities described in detail in the General Conditions.
